John Jorgenson
John is a great musician, friend of Soave and veteran of our festival, in which he participated nine times. He is known both as an eminent Gypsy Jazz guitarist and Bluegrass mandolinist and for his eclectic electric guitar playing., which makes his live performances unforgettable shows. His talent and virtuosity earned him a “GRAMMY Award” in 2008, “ACM Guitarist of the Year” per tre volte consecutive, inclusion in Guitarist Magazine's "100 Guitar Heroes" and "100 Most Influential Guitarists" and Guitar Player Magazine's "Album of the Year" with the Hellecasters.
In this edition John appears in three different modes:
John Jorgenson Electric Band
which sees John busy on the electric guitar, accompanied by a splendid rhythm section that moves easily between rock, blues, country and many other styles, and is made up of
- Alan Thomson, bassist, Scottish guitarist and producer who has played in the band since 2002, after having been a member of “John Martyn's Band” for many years, as well as a skilled singer-songwriter. For several years he has been permanently involved band by Martin Barre (ex Jethro Tull).
- Cesare Valbusa, Italian drummer, also with John since 2002, after having been part of the "Rudy Rotta Blues Band" in the 80s.
- Franz Bazzani, skilled Italian pianist and keyboardist, who has also collaborated for a long time with Luca Olivieri and has performed with many artists including Bobby Solo, Bruno Marini, James Burton, Jerry Donahue, Tommy Emmanuel and Johnny Hiland.

J2B2 – John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band
J2B2 is a bluegrass supergroup featuring four legendary, award-winning musicians: John Jorgenson himself on acoustic guitar, mandolin and voice; Herb Pedersen al banjo, acoustic guitar and vocals; Mark Fain on the bass; e Patrick Sauber on acoustic guitar and vocals, offering bluegrass like no one has ever heard before.
- John Jorgenson, insieme a Herb Pedersen e Chris Hillman, he is the founder of the legendary group country rock “The Desert Rose Band”. Furthermore in the 1990 Jorgenson ha creato “The Hellecasters” con Jerry Donahue e Will Ray. He then toured with Elton John's band for six years. He collaborated with Barbra Streisand, Bonnie Raitt, Earl Scruggs e nel 2004 played Django Reinhardt in the Hollywood film “Head in the Clouds”. Winner in 2008 of a Grammy for Best Country Instrumental with Brad Paisley, John was nominated for Best Bluegrass Album with Earl Scruggs.
- Herb Pedersen was a member of the legendary bluegrass band The Dillards and the bluegrass supergroup “Old & In the Gray”, reunion of the previous “Old & In the Way”. Sought after singer and musician, he worked with music legends like Chris Hillman, Earl Scruggs, Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris, Tony Rice, Dan Fogelberg, Stephen Stills, Linda Ronstadt, Kris Kristofferson, John Prine, Jackson Browne e John Denver.
- Mark Fain he toured and recorded as a bassist for Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder for 13 years. He toured and recorded with the Dixie Chicks, Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Dwight Yoakam, Allison Krauss e Dolly Parton, as well as producing many artists in the jazz genres, country, bluegrass e gospel.
- Patrick Sauber is a multi-instrumentalist who has quickly made a name for himself in the world of bluegrass and old-time music. Equally skilled on the guitar, the mandolin and the banjo, Sauber toured with Peter Rowan and Laurie Lewis and appeared on screen in “The Mighty Wind”.
“From The Crow’s Nest”, J2B2's debut album, was recorded at Sheryl Crow's studio in Nashville, in Tennessee.
