Francesco Loccisano
He was born and raised in Calabria and began studying classical guitar in 1985. After having collaborated with various Calabrian artists such as Mimmo Cavallaro, Thief, Fabio Macagnino, Quartered in 2005 he joined Eugenio Bennato's Taranta Power with whom he carried out an intense concert activity at an international level.
His innate talent and great passion for the battente guitar lead him to structure his own personal compositional style, interpretative and performance highly appreciated by an increasingly wider audience. And thanks to this work the battente guitar also enjoys greater attention on the global music scene.
The collaboration with the Spanish director Carlos Saura (and with the dancers Manuela Adamo and Miguel Angel Berna) for the documentary film "La Jota", consecrates Loccisano as a virtuoso of the swing guitar on the international scene. From this experience “Cardìa” was born, a show that debuted at the Teatro Principal in Zaragoza in 2016 and sees two different musical cultures compared. In August of 2015, Loccisano attracts the attention of rock star Gianna Nannini who involves him in a passionate live show on the stage of the Summer Arena in Soverato (Cz).
With Vinicio Capossela he collaborates on various national live shows and on the recording of the album “The Songs of the Dark”.
Francesco is currently a teacher of battente guitar (the first in Italy) at Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Nocera Terinese (Cz).
He has been the protagonist of numerous international festivals, and we are certain that his presence will give our appointment a new and unique color.
