Clive Carroll
Clive Carroll grew up in a family with deep musical roots of Bluegrass and Irish Music. It's the meeting with John Renbourn in 1998 to encourage this precocious and brilliant acoustic guitarist to release his first solo CD “Sixth Sense” estimated by English critics as “a milestone in the journey of the acoustic guitar”.
Always Renbourn in the 2000 he wanted it for two consecutive years as supporter on his world tour, which consecrated Clive as an extraordinary guitarist capable of proposing very fine performances capable of creating warm and engaging atmospheres.
Clive graduated with a first-class degree in composition from Trinity College, London, and plays virtually everything with great skill and intensity., from traditional Irish music to classical, alfolk, al blues. Equipped with an extraordinary touch, of an almost unattainable technique, of great musical sensitivity and splendid compositional ability. His style, unmistakable and original, it is made of bending and glissati, of quick slurs performed with the left hand, like lightning-fast triplets played with the right hand, which strongly recall his musical background (Clive is from an Irish family).
Today Clive is one of the most sought after guitar performers in the world and his fame is destined to grow more and more, as artists like Tommy Emmanuel testify, who very often shares festivals and tours with him.
