Frank Vignola Trio (U.S.A.)
Frank Vignola is an old friend. With us since 2008, initially with the quintet, with whom he also performed at the Teatro Olimpico (guest Tommy Emmanuel) in a concert that we have reproduced in full on DVD, still available, and subsequently together with the trusty and talented Vinny Raniolo. Frank is one of the most prestigious contemporary guitarists, whose activity (he began dedicating himself to the instrument at the age of 5 years) led him to play alongside artists such as Madonna and Ringo Starr when he was in his early twenties. He has collaborated with music icons, like Bucky Pizzarelli and with the great and unforgettable Les Paul, constituting the cornerstone of the show that this incredible master held for years at the "Iridium Club" in New York. Frank is certainly one of the world's guitar pearls. His participation in the festival sees him in the tried and tested trio, with Vinny Raniolo on guitar and Gary Mazzaroppi on bass.
Frank Vignola recorded more than 30 CD as soloist, and has been a guest on hundreds of recordings. He also wrote more than 18 music manuals, recorded the CD “Vignola Plays Gershwin”, critically acclaimed work, and recorded 3 DVD per Mel Bay Publications. He has also produced for TrueFire.com more than 50 feature film video courses suitable for all levels of study. His private lessons “One on One” and “Jazz Studio” on-line they are followed by thousands of enthusiastic jazz guitarists, scattered throughout the world.
Frank Vignola currently plays every Wednesday night at the famous “Birdland Jazz Club Theater” in New York City. He also has a duo collaboration with violinist Tessa Lark. “Frank Vignola’s Guitar Night” hosted some of the best talent on the planet, including Mike Stern, Pasquale Grasso, Jimmy Bruno, Janis Siegel, And Peplowski, Bill Charlap, Houston Person and many others.
